McDonald’s has become the focus of outrage after a shocking video from a Brisbane, Australia, branch surfaced online. The footage shows an employee drying a wet mop beneath a heat lamp typically used to keep French fries warm. Even more disturbing, reports suggest the restaurant’s manager was allegedly responsible for the act, placing the mop dangerously close to food meant for customers.
The incident, filmed by a diner and sent to TMZ, quickly went viral. Despite another worker warning about the potential hazard, the employee continued drying the mop, raising serious concerns about hygiene standards and management oversight.
A McDonald’s Australia spokesperson confirmed awareness of the video, calling the behavior “completely unacceptable.” The company said corrective measures were immediately taken and stressed that food safety remains its top priority.
