According to the national press, Vittorio Brumotti claimed to have been bitten by the brown recluse spider, not once, but twice. This situation caused him considerable problems.
Brumotti initially explained that he underestimated the symptoms despite also having a very high fever. A brown recluse spider bite is usually painless, and symptoms only appear in the hours following the bite.
“My calf had grown four times bigger,” Brumotti told Pomeriggio 5. Brumotti is known to love being outdoors, which often leads him to encounter various animals and insects. Fortunately, Brumotti is now doing much better.

“Unfortunately, the brown recluse spider was unlucky enough to bite me, and now it’ll catch my virus,” Vittorio Brumotti joked to the host, showing her photos of what happened, which were also shown on air.
“I live with danger and all sorts of situations, and I took this one lightly. At a certain point, I started scratching the scab. My calf had swollen four times, and I immediately called the poison control center in Pavia,” Brumotti continued.
“They were excellent and very quick in giving me the instructions for treating this type of bite,” Brumotti later explained. In short, it was an absolutely unpleasant experience, but the timely intervention allowed Brumotti to save his life and share his story.
