The discovery that left them speechless
When he scooped out a little more ice cream with the spoon, a small creature was revealed: a coiled body, with a tail and tiny tongs. It was a scorpion, frozen and partially covered by chocolate.
The animal was not alive, but its silhouette was unmistakable. For a few seconds, mother and daughter were paralyzed, not knowing how to react. The silence in the kitchen was only broken by the hum of the refrigerator. Then came the questions, one after another: how could something like this have happened?, did the animal enter during production?, was it possible that it snuck in later, through the sealed packaging?
The girl, with a pale face and trembling hands, put her cone down on the counter and asked in a whisper if it had been there all along. His mother did not know what to answer.
From shock to action
When the first wave of disbelief passed, instincts took over. The mother took several photographs of the ice cream, put the cone in a sealed plastic bag, and immediately called the brand’s customer service. The representative who answered the call was equally surprised and requested all the available information: images, place of purchase, lot number printed on the packaging and date of acquisition. He promised that an investigation would be opened immediately.
But the emotional damage was already done. The girl set aside her snack and declared that she did not want to eat ice cream again. His mother understood perfectly.
